I have always assumed that the second battalion Yeomanry Regiments kept their badge and identities rather the Cyclist Corps ones.

Where the first battalions were disbanded or converted to infantry there does seem to have been a pattern of former Yeoman retaining their old badges where they could get away with it.

The same thing happened when soldiers were transferred into the Labour Corps and most chose to keep their old badges. This was officially tolerated as photos show.
