I agree. It looks like a ribbon for the 1939-45 Star. As there is no War Medal 1939-45 ribbon. This was not instituted until August 1945.The ribbons were authorised for wear well before the medals were issued. As the 1939-45 star was instituted in July 1943 we can date this picture to between those dates. There was a delay in authorising so safer to date from early 1944 to late 1945.
