Jon,

There was only one numbered Corps raised within the county of Huntingdon which, from 1872, became part of the 1st.Admin Battalion, Cambridgeshire Rifle Volunteers. ( Westlake- "Tracing the Rifle Volunteers " )

The first officers were-

Captain the Hon Octavius Duncombe ) Late 1st Life Guards
Lt.John M.Heathcote and
Ensign William V. Theed

Due to the similarity of early rifle volunteer uniforms it is very difficult, as I am sure you know, to positively indentify individual units.

Can we ask what book page 29B is from. Is there a clue in the book ?

The Pouch Belt badge might help if the image was a little clearer.

Peter
