I would not be happy with either, however, both are very common badges and I would suggest that even these days, good basic originals can still be found for very little if enough time is spent, the 12th Lancers was a badge produced in quantity down the years, it is difficult to be sure, from the photograph, it may be original, but looking at the photos, I would still want a better example, if I were you.
