I have collar badges that were made with what I believe were 104th Westminster Fusiliers grenades with the overlays removed and the holes plugged. They have what appear to be the eagles from Irish Fusiliers buttons placed on the grenades.
I have wondered if badges and money were in such short supply that some creativity was needed to procure badges.
I have Seaforth Highlanders of Canada collar badges that were cast rather than die struck, and have seen another pair with provenance from an officer who served in the 1930s.
