There is one item there that is quite sad.
The uniform belonging to the late Kerry Slaven (1st Armoured Regiment) - a good mate of mine was his crew commander and (Tp Leader) and went he went on leave Kerry was acting crew commander (South Vietnam - circa 1968/69 from memory) in a Centurion Tank. He was in the turret manning his .30 cal machine gun during a contact with Viet Cong when it got hit by an RPG!
He survived but suffered terrible wounds which ultimately caused his kidneys to shutdown. He died in 1988 when he refused dialysis - a terrible way to go but from what I heard he was a top bloke and a credit to the Royal Australian Armoured Corps.
One of many interesting items in that museum. Might be tempted to drive there from Sydney and have a bid.
