Whilst I am no expert on Hallmarked officers badges I would have thought the hall mark would have been on the reverse of the skull rather than the missing bones, not much room on the bones, more on the skull.

Apart from my thoughts it is a cracking badge, one I would welcome on my board, if this is a collar badge you would have thought they would turn up more often as they were worn in pairs albeit a long time ago.
