Hello all,
The badge shown is in fact recorded in British Army Proficiency Badges by Edwards and Langley. Page 97 item no 110 'C in wreath block letter' there is also a good image of the badge as worn by ATS Cooks. The badge is about 6cm across. I have one, but I cannot comment if the one shown is original or a repro. More info if you are really interested.
The ACC had 2 mottoes, first was "When its brown its cooked, when its black its f....d." and second, "Give them plenty, one each."
To be serious though, the ACC and regimental cooks, seemed to be the butt of every joke in the Army. I bet they were pleased when they rebadged to RLC, but they still retained their real motto "We Sustain".
