Interesting, back in mah day when t'regiment (RRF) wore a stable belt with the ridiculous brass belt plate bearing a fragile anodised aluminium badge the old Lancashire Fusilier stable belts which were the same but with leather straps instead of brass plate were permitted and coveted
At least the Int Corps locket doesn't have to be polished - but Id've thought that the old strap version would be the one squaddies (even intelligent ones) would want.
