An "inspector" button is for uniformed staff typically found in transport companies.
JMT was launched in 1923 and purchased by the Jersey Railway and Tramway company in 1928. It makes sense to use the JR&T coat of arms buttons. The railway disappeared in 1937.
I have searched lots of public transport sites today. All come up with JMT being Jersey Motor Transport. I have not searched abroad.
I think it is very hard to prove "never been worn".
I am holding on to Jersey Motor Transport, tentative dates 1923-1928. It will be difficult to prove, so I am adding 'to be confirmed'.

As you wish, but I used to have a uniform from the JMT and knew many drivers and conductors all of whom only ever wore the brass or anodised buttons!
