As you suggested a Gaunt plaque thread I have attached pictures of the Gaunt plaques on all 6 of my RND badges, apologies for the quality of pics but I think you should be able to see most of what is required. The Drake, Howe, Anson & Hood badges all have plaques that are 8.2mm wide by 3.6mm high. The Hawke badge plaque is 8.3mm by 3.5mm and the Nelson badge plaque is 8.4mm by 3.6mm. The lettering of all 6 plaques is approx 1mm high. Compared to the badge that started this thread the plaques on my badges appear pretty crude compared to the more clinical stamping of the plaque on that Hood badge.
