Hello Neil.
This is a WW1 Bronze two piece Officers Service Dress Cap Star. I've only seen two and I own one. They are very rare. This was verified by Irish Guards RHQ and the Guards Museum.
Here is my one - from my album. 
Save for the voided Gaunt Officers Pagri star - its the only Irish Guards officers cap star that is not silver and enameled.
