I gave a "Mad Anglia" badged helmet away some months ago, the old type pressed felt, leather sweatband, plastic chinstrap variety.
I have the chromed Cambridgeshire Constabulary ERII and "pineapple" helmet plates and a small box full of collar numbers, buttons, collar badges that were used by various incarnations of Peterborough police through the past few decades. Nothing exciting, just basic bits of insignia, and a 1950's dated cape, 1990's era cap and policewoman's bowler style hat.
Although Mid Anglia Constabulary existed only 1964 -74, some Peterborough policemen were still wearing the M.A. helmet plates and old style helmets into the 2000's, the obsolete Cambridgeshire Constabulary plates also being worn by some despite being replaced by the pineapple plate around 1979 - 80.
