Thank you for the info it appears we have a left and right facing pair although mine is minus the slider and whilst doing some more googling i stumbled on this which i was unaware of and have just spent 30 minutes enjoying the wood carvings and explanations about which regiments were stationed in Danbury during WW1..still no nearer finding out what it is/was but im sure one day i will
