Default CMPC Badges

Very nice acquisitions. All are fairly rare, even in Canada. Regarding the Crownless CMPC cap badge, I have seen a few like that and have one in my collection. They are not authorized collar badges, the proper collar badge is the letters C.M.P.C. as shown in your first pic. I tend to believe that they are simply damaged badges as the metal is very thin at the ends of the maple leaves. It is possible they serve some other purpose, maybe on a brassard as Bill says but I have never seen photographs or regulations or descriptions to confirm this. For now, I would consider it as a damaged badge but I would not either have it repaired or dispose of it. We are constantly learning new things about badges and how they were used.
