There were two earlier Patterns of this badge but what you have is Pattern 4694A/1903 authorised on 3rd Oct 1003. It was modified on 20 Nov 1905 with the slider moved to the centre of the badge (as is yours). This was worn up to 27 Jul 1950 when it was superseded by Pattern 14398/1950 – the smaller version.
