I have had these for way over 20 years, and in my complete ignorance thought they were from a Royal Anglian Regiment battalion as they were rather like the Lincolnshire Regiment badge. I really hadn't ever given them a lot of thought, but after a bit of a shine, I thought I should really do something about them.

There were 5 regiments with the sphinx as a collar badge but two of them, including the SWB had a 'male' sphinx with no breasts. Of the three female sphinx one had Marabout rather than Egypt on the plinth. Of the two remaining female sphinx only that for the Gloucestershire regiment had the letters EGYPT with 'serifs', as per your pair of badges.
