Why not go the whole hog, and have coal fires again? Metric is the best system in the world, simple take for example A/F, Whitworth tools, metric is just a number. Britain is stuck in a rut. Look at the car, motorbike and truck company's, Shipbuilding etc etc all gone. Britain should take the best idea's from all country's and use them, instead people want to go backwards.
