I just had a look at the photos. I don't think that it was made by one of the big makers (am guessing that it was a bit of a "niche" market). You'll see that there is a black outline to the "transparent red" enamel.

I've been told by someone who restores old car badges that this colour is a proper b##ger to get right and can easily be overheated.

It never really works on silver and usually ends up a queer reddish brown. Amazing what you can learn if you ask!
