Hello, I live near Pisa but I am originally from southern Italy.
Of course I know the town of Palmanova, even though I've never been there. The whole region of Friuli was subjected to massive militarization after WW2 due to political tensions with neighboring Yugoslavia and then between the two blocs, NATO and the Warsaw Pact.
I served as an Officier first in Rome and then in Reggio Calabria. Now I'm a lieutenant on leave but still subject to call-up (Medical Corps - Logistics Service).
