Obvious guess would be 'Camel Corps' but a couple of points cast doubt on this.

1. NUTTING (also Nutting & Co /Nutting & Son) manufactured Military/Livery buttons at King Street , Covent Gardens London from 1800 - 1840 and were then "Amalgamated with Sherlock & Co".

2. There is a print in The British Museum London titled "Thomas Rowcroft ('A Royal Exchange Consul General')". Below the title, like a crest, is a camel and the motto Patientia. 1824

So it appears the camel/Patientia insignia was in use well before WW1.
