The actual overseas service chevrons worn on uniform are cloth, the year 1914 represented by a red chevron, the following war time years by blue ones.
The sweetheart could have a single red or a single blue or combination of single red and multiple blues, or just multiple blues, depending on hwhich and how many years service overseas are represented.
