I think that 26 Gurkha Brigade spent some time near KL or the Highlands and wore the Gold Kris on dark maroon background.
I have an example of this embroidered white on blue felt. I have been given the following identifications:

a. Gurkhas attached to the UN.
b. Gurkhas attached to the Army Air Corps.
c. Just more rubbish.

I go for c until I see documentary evidence to confirm correct identification.

Never heard of 26 Gurkha Brigade wearing the gold kris on maroon background, the FS of OCLF based in Kuala Lumpur. This sign was introduced c1957 following the demise of HQ Malaya Command.
