Not very much I'm afraid. There are four versions, as shown in the link and I have never seen very much information on them. They are designed for wear in civilian clothes to show that the wearer is gainfully employed by the RAF (as opposed to being a shirker as not in uniform). There is also a theory about them being issued for wear by men who had been accepted for service with the RAF but for whatever reason were not yet in uniform.
