There are only a few patterns/versions of the SF Wing that can be 100% guaranteed as being WW2 originals. There are several variations of field-theater made examples, but they are very difficult to authenticate, unless there is cast-iron history and provenance. On top of this there are many fakes-replicas-reproductions, just to confuse matters further. I am sure this is much the same with many other Insignia's, handling and seeing examples or images of original pieces can certainly be helpful.

This example is one that belonged to an OSS enlisted man who served in the Norwegian-American NORSO Operational Group, he took part in the PERCY RED Mission. After which he then volunteered to take part in the training of Chinese Commando's in the Far East. This Wing may have been sourced en-route and is one of very few authentic Bullion patterns, I only know of two or three variations.
