Mission QUININE is covered on several pages in ‘Special Forces in the Invasion of France’ by Paul Gaujac published in 1999 by Histoire & Collections ISBN 2 908 182 947

QUININE arrived from Blida by Halifax during the night of 8/9 June 1944 on the Luzettes plateau near Aurillac. On the DZ an excited maquisard raced across the field in front of the paratroopers he had just greeted: “We’ve got a French officer and he’s brought his wife along!”
The ‘wife’ was Major R Tommy MacPherson (code name Anselme) wearing his kilt. The other Jed Team members were Lieutenant Michel de Bourbon-Parme (Aristide) and Sergeant Oliver Brown (Felicien) Royal Armoured Corps.
QUININE remained operational until the end of July 1944.
