Thanks so looking at that, it was absorbed into Southern Command in 1955, which could mean the badge in 1949 was for the Signals alone, as it was formed 1947 to look after Signals in the southern area. Would love to hear from Cliff if he can add anything to the female connection, I'll look in more detail in the book though. Thanks for the reference.
