Cool Badge collecting memories . . !

Although I have collected badges for over seventy years. I still have to look to my files to see where and when I bought them.

The other week whilst re-carding my Royal Irish Fusiliers badges a cap badge that was one piece with crown soldered above grenade broke, a badge I had been custodian for over fifty years, when I checked it out, bought for 1/9d (less than 10p) from one William Tobin, probably Britain's first full time militaria dealer.

The good news, I re-soldered it back to one-piece, a repaired item, but original and still on my Royal Irish Fusiliers board.

Remember, we are only custodians and all the records of our collecting should be passed on for future collectors, items without provenance while being collectable do not have history.
