Default RCAF Para Rescue badge

I have for some time, been trying to pin down the date of introduction of this small sleeve badge. Warren Carroll in Eagles Recalled states it's a WW2 badge but although the first volunteers trained in 1944 it seems the first official course was in January 1945 and lasted 19 weeks (until about July that year) and even then I'm not certain if this badge was awarded. The Para Rescue website (which seems to have disappeared) also indicates it's a just post war badge.

This article notes the second post war course and dates from 1950 (http://www.royalaviationmuseum.com/8...e-para-rescue/). Does anyone have confirmation in documents or photos, it was issued during the war?

Thanks
