Bought this at Yate yesterday. Shouldn't really have been there and I apologise to anyone who had to take avoiding action from my wheelchair.
The question is, what have I bought? Is it an officer's cap badge? However on closer inspection the loops on the back look different to any cap badge fixings I've seen. They're not silvered. Although fixed at East and West on the nice solid heavy unmarked badge, they have been fixed so the fixing pin(s) have to be inserted North to South. Thinking about this afterwards I realised that if it was an NCO's arm badge then an East to West pin would be more difficult to fit and may show, whereas 2 vertical pins would be better.
Is anybody able to confirm that this badge was produced specifically as an NCO's arm badge?
Thanks,
IanH
