I agree about rumours started by dealers, they are usually trying to sell something at a great profit.
When I found this, it was amongst a fair bit of bric a brac, there was no other militaria, and the guy selling it didn't know anything about it [ and to be honest neither did I till I got home ] but it was cheap, and for a circa 1975 beret it has done some travelling to end up in a car boot sale in the UK.
I did wonder when you said rumours, for many an ex-serviceman has said "I had one of those".
