"The Regiment" issue no. 20, "The Queen's Royal Lancers 1689 - 1997" states that officer's shoulder titles and rank insignia on Service Dress and on the jersey in Winter Barrack Dress are "gun metal" and that the buttons on the shoulder straps of the jersey are of leather.
From a photo shown the shoulder strap button on Service Dress is "shiny", presumably of anodised aluminium.

A poor quality photo shows the RSM wearing a pouch described as a silver pouch with a gold ERII cypher with crown above in the centre.

The officer's pouch illustrated in "British Army Badges" is similar but with crown over VR cypher.
