The Royal Engineers (Militia) Malta Division is another. They remained active even in the Elizabethan era, however never seen a Queen's Crown badge with the "M". The Division was created in 1892.
Re brazed or pinned, IMHO I believe both could be genuine. I wouldn't write it in stone that brazed badges are fake!
