It is also possible there there is something printed/embroidered on the vertical strip. However, my eyesight isn't as good as it once was and I am not completely sure.

Thank you for the link. I have a photocopy in my London Regiment file that shows an earlier attempt to list the cloth badges worn ny the various battalions of the London Regiment which I will dig out.
