Default Army officers Sun helmet

Another item made by Hawkes & Co. again sometime after 1911 as it lists both addresses and I have been informed that the type of liner was introduced in 1917, though the pug band looks more like one from circa 1930 and the flash has been id's as being for the S. Lancs and again dating to the same period.

In lovely condition complete with paper warning labels and two sets of makers marks. It is possible that it is an early example reused with the flash for the S. Lancs in the later period as the pug band variations can be very hard to date as both thin and thick types are seen in WWI period photographs. Note it has a leather edge trim which should only be seen on officer examples, OR's should have a cloth trim.
