Default What's kosher?

It has been my belief that there were three different makers variations simultaniously, the one you show, a more "rounded" one, which also came fretted for OR's, and the most common "smaller" one.
The one you show is sometimes called the "Edwardian" version.
Here's where the plot thickens; both original and reproduction KC and even pre-1887 VC badges were worn into the 21st century by the KOSB, both by Officers and OR's. Reproduction badges being worn in the Army is something that rarely gets mentioned here on the forum and sheds a different light on "original" badges.
So, I think kosher is fairly relative in this case.
