Thanks for your reply and sorry not to have acknowledged it earlier. In between time, I found the website maintained by the NZANS and was able to track down one of mine. It's a great site and has some really good bio stuff there.
A LOT of work has gone into that with married names, dates of death, etc.
Yes, you are correct the Bay badge has got a flatter crown and the ferns are a little different. The red enamel of the Bay effort is a little "muddy" and both the ones that I've seen are "burnt" around the edges of the cross.
