Robert,
With a couple of exceptions, COTC badges are neither rare nor expensive. The pictures show officers' badges in bi-metal, enamels, etc. The COTC doesn't seem to have a large following of...

Bored with lockdowns & pandemics? Me too.
Here's some seldom seen COTC insignia. These are not all mine - my apologies if I've stolen somebody's images.

or maybe not.

I had never seen an example of this badge prior to that auction either. It’s got to be a pretty rare piece, maybe even a one-of-a-kind.

What’s most interesting to me when ‘unknowns’ like this pop...

G,S, & E Chaplains badge

The gilt, silver & enamel pattern badges are described in the same General Order (G.O. 128 / 1932) as the typical blackened badges. There is no indication that the fancy badges were meant to indicate...

Strathcona's

Nothing new here, just experimenting with a new camera. You know you're getting old when your new telephone takes better pictures than your old Nikon ever did.

Happy New Year, all.

Mike,

I have never found the Borden Tank collars in anything other than OSD bronze.

Here’s a couple of scans showing the “Crown / Leaf” badge of the Governor General’s Body Guard. Mazeas calls this pattern a sergeant’s arm badge (MC.9a) in his pre ’14 book, and a slouch hat badge...

I'd call the badge good. Market value somewhere in the $1400 - $1700 Canadian range.
