I have now seen one of these and it is not military but a Yeovil school uniform cap badge with eyes for stitching on to a school cap worn pre 1925.

Staybrite anodised aluminium King's Liverpool cap badge dating to the 1960s and worn by the TA.

The scroll is seeded unlike the later plain scroll version which is still worn today by LUOTC.

Unfortunately the level of fakery has been so great in RND badges that any maker's badge other than Gaunt's is regarded as suspect.

the fact that most of the designs are one piece des not help.

The officers badge is the City crest so the same as tramways in design. However being a VB the fittings may have been lugs as shown or blades. I would expect an officers' badge to be silver but...
