Silver star, Military ?

Can anyone shed some light on this please ? the person who owns it thinks it may be Oxfordshire and Buckinghshire Light Infantry, but I can't find a parallel. Or is it just a family heraldic mount ?

Barring the number, it looks identical to fig,89 and others in Parkyn, though your pattern isn't mentioned for the 1st. Fig 89 and the others are dated to c, 1780.

Hi all, bellow is a button I think is of the 23rd Native Infantry, India. The closest parallel I've found is in Gwen Squires "Buttons" book but that is of the 25th.

I've got this down as a military button but to be honest I'm not really sure. I've seen them listed as engineers buttons and also as a Queen Vick's servants button.

Question on the design

On this button which I put up for id some time ago, I started of calling it a ducks foot pattern around the number but then thought maybe it was an oak-leaf design but I'm still not sure what it is....
