How recent is the image of the Drum Major , i have the arm badge hes wearing ? I always presumed it was and older county ACF badge.

The reason i ask is that there doesnt seem to be any more modern markers marks. Which meant either the badge wasnt worn or the QM kept a very tight control on the badges and reissued them.

Dont think ive seen a Dowler version before. Personally,id doubt the Gaunt Bham was the original badge.
The Firmin and Smith & Wright marks usually percede the Gaunt Bham mark.

Without measuring, the Light Infantry is larger than the Royal Green Jackets. I think the Rifles and RGJ are the same...

I thought that Alex. The larger badge fell out of use in the latter years of the Regiment. The badge reduced in size to just a bit larger than the small collar.
