For me, I would give that particular badge a good cleaning. It has a considerable amount of built up dirt and some corrosion. A patina will always return, minus the dirt and corrosion when properly...

In my view, the value of these Woodward badges lies in their being marked as such, as mentioned. Their quality was rather crude, but are very representative of WW1.
