The interesting point is that to produce this badge the lettering would be raised in the die so it is NOT the standard badge as this has incuse lettering which is serifed...

Add a little bit of table salt to your white vinegar and leave it for about 10 minutes. Be sure to boil it in water afterwards or it can develop patches of verdigris.
