why I call it a "duck and bastard" badge?

Simon,

It's from Graham Maddock's excellent "The Liverpool Pals" book.

"There were in 1914, as there are today, more than a few public houses in the Liverpool area named "The Eagle and Child',...

Good evening gents,

I like to add pictures of a recent arrival to this thread.
It's an unusual variant of the Para Regiment badge I think.

I'm very interested in the opinions of forum members....

New Book from the K.O.S.B. Regimental Museum

Thank you Hiram.
I've contacted Gerry for a copy.

I have a weak spot for the KOSB since I met some veterans 40 years ago on a September evening in the "Schoonoord Café" in Oosterbeek.

Border Title WW2

Hi ccfc,

I've attached the "wrong" version that Luc mentioned for reference.
As you can see the letters are stitched through the purple backing cloth.

Hi Luke,

I've fixed the link.
As far as my old eyes can see it's a die struck nickel plated badge.

Voided die struck para badge with marks on a wing?

Well, actually I spotted this badge on the site (https://clementsmilitaria.com/shop.php?code=55856) of a dutch dealer.
Looks like a good badge to me but the marks are odd.

Voided die struck para badge with marks on a wing?

Good morning gents,

Are there members of the forum who have seen a die struck voided para badge with marks on a wing before?
I haven't but maybe the more knowledgeable have?

Best Buy of 2021

Good evening gents,

I think my "Best Buy" of 2021 was this plated KOSB badge.

It's marked "P" and "Gaunt London" in the legs of the Cross of St. Andrew on the back.
