The helmet plate is probably original but in such a poor state almost as if its been buried. I would not buy it, its a common badge and easy to obtain.

The cap badge is not Volunteers...

I also have a CGA title used by the Ceylon Garrison Artillery, so thats 3 uses now, Cape, Canada and Ceylon.

Luckily a lot of the Canadian ones are maker marked which makes them easier to ID but...

His Service Records and his MIC show firstly France on 18.7.1915 and Italy 27.11.1917.

I have his 1915 Trio also, which he wouldnt get in...

Mystery Ampule

Hello,

This little glass ampule came with a WW1 soldiers personal possessions recently.

Its in a brass Thorens Gramophone needle case, presumably for its protection.

Does anyone recognise it...
