I agree that the RDG Tara brooch looks to be the same as that worn by pipers of the Royal Irish Regiment.

Circular plaid brooch with central Jewel is possibly worn by the senior piper(s) or the Pipe Major. The other as in posts 1 and 2 is a Tara brooch.
