Thanks guys. The info I have gives the soldierís name and number with Ď6 Troopí, the number is in the Leicestershire Regt block so maybe he was attached to another unit.

Which formations used the designation Ďtroopí during WW2? Iíve seen it on something relating to a soldier who is almost certainly infantry, unless of course he is attached to another unit

They do look a bit odd but I donít think theyíre faded. It looks to me like the colour from the leather has leached out into the fabric. They donít look to be British issue either
