My thoughts were that it could be grey on dark...

My thoughts were that it could be grey on dark green, silver braid on black or dark green, finally plumped for the beige-grey on black option.
I can't tell what's what with crowded images of this...

If a fawn-grey thread chevron on black no. 10 is a WWII era Waffen SS "tropical" rank chevron for a "Sturmmann".
The brass crossed rifles no. 4 looks like a British army marksmanship badge.
