I've reported him to Ebay, and listed 4 items that are obvious fakes. I can't see where he says reproduction and he won't answer questions. That 27 Scottish badge looks reasonable though: Maker's...

Hi,

Yeah it's a collar. Nice looking badge. Looks to be WW1 Era/Militia Period 1930/42. By the shape and detail, I'd suggest British made. Not an uncommon badge.

Can you show the back? Is there a makers mark? For example, if it was marked Luke it would be WW2. Is it brass or copper? Does it have lugs or is it a slider?

But I am far from being any sort of...

Rising Sun weird patina

Gentlemen,

I recently acquired a single MM Tiptaft RS and I'm troubled by the patina. Anyone have any idea of why it's that colour? Should I be concerned? I'm thinking about returning it.

I've...

Hi jean-paul Vermersch,

Thanks for the reply. Yours looks the same as the one held in a museum collection in Victoria and has a similar finish. I'd presume the LH badge in the museum collection...

Intro

Good day Gentlemen,

Just a quick intro. I'm ex-Australian military from last century and a collector of primarily Rising Sun badges: I find it strangely therapeutic. I haven't had much luck, as...
