I was always under the assumption that it was a Dust Coat patch worn by staff at ROF Leeds??

Terry, Sorry about that... They were probably worn during the 50's by NAAFI staff on board ships when wearing No 8 rig which I believe was a blue shirt and dark blue trousers.
